Briefing Document: The Raine Report – My Final Report
Date: November 28, 2024 (Based on the publication date given, Nov 26, 2024)
Author: Dan Raine
Document Type: Sales Post / Announcement of a Final Report
Overview: This document is a personal narrative and sales pitch for “The Final Report,” a business guide created by Dan Raine. The post details Raine’s personal history with mail-order businesses, his recent successful venture, and the content of the final report. It heavily leverages nostalgia and personal experience to build credibility and create a compelling offer for the reader.
Key Themes and Ideas:
- Inspiration and Transformation:
- The post opens with a story of Raine’s childhood experience purchasing a “How to Start a Mail Order Business” manual. This single purchase is framed as a life-altering event, sparking a passion for business and marketing that diverts him from traditional academic paths. He states, “That manual changed my life forever, it inspired me like nothing at school had ever done.”
- This narrative sets the stage for the new report, suggesting that it can have a similar life-changing effect on the reader. The core message is one of empowerment and the possibility of achieving freedom from conventional career paths.
- The impact of the original manual is a recurring theme: “I can categorically say that that one printed manual had the biggest impact on me in my life…”
- New Business and Retirement Plan:
- Raine recently launched a new business venture, describing it as “a business that I had spent months researching, a business that would actually be fun doing, a business that would be my retirement plan.”
- He portrays this new business as something he has always wanted to do but couldn’t figure out how to monetize, making it seem unique and accessible to the reader. He emphasizes the fun aspect: “The thing is, I’m doing something I always wanted to do but could never really work out how I could make money doing it, which for me is really freeing.”
- The current success is highlighted by sharing his revenue figures: “My first month made just over $3,000, plan validated. This month it will top $6,000, and by the end of February, even after the holiday slump I am on track to break the magic $10,000 a month barrier.” This rapid growth reinforces the value of the “final report.”
- Accessibility and Low-Barrier Entry:
- A significant theme is the simplicity and ease of starting this particular business. Raine states, “It doesn’t require funds to get running and it has nothing to do with TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, or X.”
- He further stresses that this business requires minimal initial investment, as he started for less than $20 and only spent an additional $13 for research.
- The business is described as requiring no complicated elements such as building a mailing list, spending on ads, creating software or web pages, setting up servers, or even having products to sell. This approach appeals to individuals who want a straightforward way to generate income. “There is no software to buy, no servers to set-up, no web pages to create, and there are not even any products to sell.”
- “The Final Report” as a Magnum Opus:
- Raine positions his 126-page report as the culmination of his knowledge, branding it as “the final report I am ever going to write” and his “magnum opus.” This creates a sense of urgency and exclusivity.
- He emphasizes that this is the first and only time he will be teaching this particular business model. “I have also never taught this before, and will never teach it again.”
- The content of the report is detailed, including:
- The specific business model and unusual niche.
- His personal research (valued at over $8,000).
- 250+ real-world examples of people earning over $100k/year, and 26 of them generating over a million.
- Detailed case studies.
- A step-by-step guide for getting started.
- Discount and Limited Time Offer:
- To make the report accessible to more people, Raine offers a 50% discount, selling it for $35 (down from the usual $70). This offer is framed as a holiday promotion, with a hint of urgency to encourage immediate purchase. “I have never charged less than $70 for a report, but over the holidays I am going to knock 50% off that price and make it available for just $35 .”
- He explicitly mentions the discount will be removed after the holidays, encouraging prompt action: “I will be removing the 50% discount at the end of the holiday, so if you want it, grab it…”
- Anti-Tech & Introverted Friendly:
- Raine positions his business method as ideal for individuals who dislike typical business elements like social media marketing, email list-building, or interacting with people. He describes it as “perfect…Especially as someone who hates leaving the house, talking to people, doing Zoom calls, or interacting with anyone in general.” This makes his offer appealing to those who prefer non-traditional methods.

My Final Report
I remember buying my very first info-product, I was just a kid, 14 I think, and I had seen a classified ad in a paper called ‘Scoot’ or ‘Exchange & Mart’ I forget which. It was one of those publications that printed thousands of classified ads for just about every service.
One of those classifieds caught my attention, it was for a product titled ‘How to start a mail order business’.
The few column inches of text grabbed me, and I knew right then that I wanted this.
For weeks I saved my pocket money, lunch money, did odd-jobs, and used the rest of my birthday money to get a postal order to send off for it. Then I waited.
… and waited.
Each morning before school I listened for the familiar sound of the post coming through the letterbox, running to get it, only to be disappointed.
It felt like weeks before it arrived.
Then one morning I heard the familiar letterbox clink followed by a heavy clunk of something substantial hitting the floor. I knew it had arrived. I ran to the door, grabbed it and rushed upstairs not wanting my mum and dad to know that I had spent all that money buying something they would have thought ‘stupid’.
I ripped open the brown paper packaging and pulled out a thick, center stapled, printed manual. I vividly remember it having an orange cover and printed in what I now know as Times Roman Font was ‘How To Start A Mail Order Business’ split and centered on two lines.
I started reading and I was hooked.
My mum was shouting from downstairs that it was time to leave for school, a few minutes later she shouted me again.
I stuffed the manual in my school bag, said goodbye and left for the twenty five or so minutes walk ahead of me. As soon as I was out of sight of the house I pulled out those printed pages and continued to read. I was excited.
I took every opportunity I had that day to read as much as I could, I skipped a lesson and sat in the library consuming as much as I could.
That night, after school, in-between dinner and being watched over by my mum to make sure I was doing my homework I read as much as I could, but there was still so much more to get through.
The next day I woke up with a plan.
I would get ready for school like normal, then I would leave the house as usual and wait out of the way for my mum to leave for work. Her shift at ASDA (a local supermarket) started at 9 and she usually left about 15 minutes before that.
Just to be sure I was one hundred percent safe I waited till a quarter past nine, then headed back home and let myself in.
I remember running up to my room, getting a fresh, never used before notebook, and writing on the cover, ‘Mail Order Notes’. My notetaking and marketing journey had begun.
That manual changed my life forever, it inspired me like nothing at school had ever done, I didn’t want to get qualifications, go to university, get a job. Nope, not for me.
All my friends at the time were studying for their ‘mock’ exams, I was planning what I was going to do for the rest of my life.
Needless to say I failed the exams, and barely scraped by with passes in the main exams the following year, and whilst all of my mates were deciding on what ‘A levels’ they were going to sit, and what university they were going to go to, I was planning my business.
I remember this in such detail because that manual changed the course of my whole life.
I can categorically say that that one printed manual had the biggest impact on me in my life, it led me to creating my first info-product and placing my first ad in ‘Private Eye’ magazine.
It made me my first income… and I was hooked.
Now here I am, 37 years later, sitting at my desk, like I am 14 years old, excited once again.
A few months ago I started a brand new business, a business that I had spent months researching, a business that would actually be fun doing, a business that would be my retirement plan.
I was nervous for the first time in a long time, not nervous that it wouldn’t work I was sure it would, but I had that kind of nervous excitement you feel on your first date, or first driving lesson. Eager to start, but not wanting to start is the only way I can describe it.
But I put on my best shirt, buckled in and started.
My first month made just over $3,000, plan validated. This month it will top $6,000, and by the end of February, even after the holiday slump I am on track to break the magic $10,000 a month barrier.
The thing is, I’m doing something I always wanted to do but could never really work out how I could make money doing it, which for me is really freeing.
For the first time, in as long as I can remember, I am actually excited to get up in the morning and start work. I feel like I did when I sent that first ad to get published.
So, you are probably wondering what the catch is, why am I telling you this stpry, and what the hell does it have to do with ‘The Final Report’.
The answer is an obvious one. I have written a report.
A 126 page report if size counts to you, and yes, as the title alludes to, this is the final report I am ever going to write. I have packed everything I know about the business into these pages, I have even shared the very unusual niche that I am in.
I want this report to have a lasting impact. I want you to have the same feelings I felt when I first read that report 37 years ago, and I want to share with you a business that anyone can run from home, and build a retirement fund in just a couple of years.
This is not some get rich scheme, it will require work, but it is actual fun work. It doesn’t require funds to get running and it has nothing to do with TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, or X.
You don’t have to build a mailing list of loyal fans, and you will never have to spend a dime on ads, or in-fact anything else.
I started this for less than $20 (it was $11 to be precise), since then I have spent a grand total of $13 to make research quicker.
There is no software to buy, no servers to set-up, no web pages to create, and there are not even any products to sell.
This for me is the perfect business. Especially as someone who hates leaving the house, talking to people, doing Zoom calls, or interacting with anyone in general.
I have also never taught this before, and will never teach it again. Not in The Raine Report, not ever, I have put everything into this report and this is my last and final one.
I will be continuing writing The Raine Report as I love doing that, but I am never going to publish another marketing related report again, this is it, my magnum opus.
There is no sales page yet, consider this post as that for now. I am sure I will get around to writing one this week. But really, it will only say what I have written above but with fancy bullets, bold text, a highlight or two, and lot’s of underlines.
But I will finish this off by saying that I want to make this available to everyone. I know pennies are tight at this time of year, Christmas is coming, and my American friends will have already spent a fortune on Thanksgiving. So I am going to keep it fair.
I have never charged less than $70 for a report, but over the holidays I am going to knock 50% off that price and make it available for just $35.
In the report you get three sections, the first is the business itself. The second is my research that has cost me over $8,000 so far, you get it all. This section is also full of examples including 250+ examples of people running this type of business and making over $100k a year, with 26 of them bringing in over a million dollars a year.
You also get detailed case studies of all the important elements of this business, showing you exactly what works, and how to do it. These are priceless
Finally you get my step-by-step guide walking you through the entire process, showing you exactly how to get started.
There is also a final section. But that is detailed in the report.
This report is 100% complete and ready for you to read immediately, nothing is held back, and as always, there are no upsells, there is nothing else to buy.
If you want to take this opportunity then you can grab it here right now.
If you have any questions then you always hit reply and ask away, I will try to answer as many of them in another post later this week.
I will be removing the 50% discount at the end of the holiday, so if you want it, grab it, and if I don’t get a chance to say it beforehand then Happy Thanksgiving. I will be spending it with my American friends up in frozen Scotland.
